KC
Dear Friends,

Did you know?
  • Every school day, 46 children, or two classrooms of students are diagnosed with cancer in this country.
  • More than 12,500 children are diagnosed each year and 1 out of 5 of those children will die.
  • Cancer is the #1 cause of death by disease in our children, cutting short the lives of more children under the age of 20 than any other disease.
  • Saving the life of a child with cancer gives our children a future; approximately 66 years of life can be celebrated if we help find the cure.
  • How do we do that? Fund research.
  • Losing one more child is too many!
Make conquering cancer your business, we have!!  Please contact us to see how you can help these children have hope for a future.

FEATURED SMALL MIRACLE

Emmett

Emmett

Emmett is a smart and energetic five-year-old boy from Evergreen Park. He loves dolphins, spiders, and bugs. His Small Miracle was a behind-the-scenes tour of Brookfield Zoo. He and his parents began at the Hamil Family Play area where Emmett was able to get up close with the snakes and reptiles.  He especially enjoyed touching the Madagascar cockroaches! After seeing spiders and other bugs the family headed to the dolphin area. Emmett was able to work with the dolphin trainers teaching Tapeko, the smart and energetic dolphin some new tricks.

Emmett 2
Emmett's favorite part was feeding Tapeko fish and rubbing his belly. Emmett had an incredible time seeing all the animals, riding the carousel, and enjoying a day at the zoo with his family. Emmett also received a family membership to Brookfield Zoo so he can return to visit Tapeko and his other crawling and slithering friends anytime.

Thank you to BN volunteer Sheena Spikes for coordinating Emmett's Small Miracle.
BOB PANZINO MEMORIAL GOLF OUTING 2009

Panzino

The 10th Annual Bob Panzino Memorial Golf Outing was held on Friday, June 12th at Poplar Creek Country Club in Hoffman Estates. The event included a day of golf, dinner, an awards ceremony and mingling for family, friends and guests.

The Panzino Family was humbled this year by the response from all of those who participated. Colleen Panzino said, "We are surrounded in love by wonderful family and friends and for that we are forever grateful.  We have made new friends along the way with our Bear Necessities family and enjoy seeing them each year at the outing. We continue to pray for a cure for this dreadful disease and until then we hope, along with Bear Necessities, that we can continue to bring smiles to these wonderful children."

A special thank you to the Panzino Family for their unwavering dedication and support.
