In addition to traditional concurrent sessions, NSA is introducing ideating concurrent sessions, which are facilitated discussions on a different topic for each concurrent time slot. Your head will explode with ideas as you gain insight and inspiration from fellow speakers "ideating" on a specific topic as a part of small facilitated sessions hosted by NSA XY.

Be one of nine specially-featured NSA members to present to your peers for exactly six minutes and 40 seconds. Each speaker will create and talk through his or her own 20-slide PowerPoint deck. But there's a catch. Each slide will be timed to automatically advance every 20 seconds!

Be aware of a group that continues to contact speakers regarding presenting at an event in London associated with the youth market, women's seminars and/or religious conferences.  Their inquiry varies and may include that they need a speaker on your topic or a speaker just cancelled and they need a replacement in your topic and fee range as soon as possible--many times not even asking what your fee is.  Their ultimate goal is for you to use them to get a work permit to present at the conference.  They want to facilitate the work permit through one of their associates if you will simply give them a credit card to start the process.  In some cases, they will even offer to send you a small check to cover initial expenses.  The entire goal of this scam is to get your credit card or personal banking information and then run up thousands of dollars in charges in your name.  Be sure you are fully investigating any inquiries of this type before giving your personal credit or banking information.

 

The Art Berg Grant is awarded each year to a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in which an NSA member is an active volunteer for use in a technology or communications-related project that will directly benefit the clients of the organization.

 

The 2010 Art Berg Grant was awarded to Impact on Education's Take My Teacher Home program. NSA member Diana Royce Smith is an active volunteer in this program, which loads teacher-recorded lessons, songs and activities on an iPod Shuffle that is sent home with at-risk kindergartners to extend the learning day. When these students start school, they are unfamiliar with the alphabet and printed word. This program enables them to catch up with their peers by the end of the school year. With the Art Berg Grant, the program has been expanded to serve 22 additional at-risk students.
