Dear ,

Edible Expeditions opened on May 7th in our Special Exhibits Gallery.  Our newest exhibit features many delicious products, some familiar and some not so familiar. All of the plants thrive in tropical regions around the world.  Come join us as we explore how rice, turmeric, lotus, longan, ice cream bean and more grow in their native land. Please enjoy this video from KGO Channel 7 News that highlights some fruits you may not see every day.  Click here for a culinary journey to the tropics.

Families will enjoy the many hands on Edibilicious activities that allow children to explore tropical roots, fruits, leaves and seeds with their senses. Activities include the Scentilicious sniff test, a Digilicious root digging activity and the Artilicious leaf rubbing station.

The exhibit also features a number of pen and ink illustrations that were created by artists studying under Mary L. Harden in the botanical illustration program at the San Francisco Botanical Garden. A reception for the artists will be held May 21 from 5-7 pm and includes a silent auction of drawings to benefit the Conservatory of Flowers.

We look forward to welcoming you to a discovery journey of tropical delights.
