Hydrangeas

Hydrangeas have a long tradition of use in shady Southern gardens. They bloom from late April untill July with flower heads of pink, red, lavender, blue and white that appears above the rich green leaves. Many of the new cultivars are repeat bloomers, extending the flowering season. Most Hydrangeas prefer to grow in the shade with perhaps some morning sun. They like well-drained soil that stays evenly moist. The Paniculatas will tolerate more sun and show off from mid-July through frost. We have a great selection of Hydrangeas at Seasons Garden Center and would love to help you choose the ones that would work best in your garden. Tip of the Week: Bigleaf Hydrangeas are a gardener's litmus paper. If you have acid soil the blooms will be blue/purple and pink/red blooms indicate alkaline soils.
