Monrovian soil
Seven different types of mycorrhizae are added to Monrovia soil mix to create an environment that dramatically increases the life of our plants. Mycorrhiza is a beneficial fungus that develops in and around a plant's roots, stimulating its nutrient and water uptake, increasing fruit and flower yield, and reducing transplant shock and other environmental stresses.

Stepables Are Here!!!
Stepables flower Pots
Stepables are a new line of plants that tolerate low to moderate foot traffic.  They make great additions to the walkway or path and can be used as a groundcover around large trees. You can use them to cover a slope or incline, and they can even be used as a grass substitute. We are very excited about the many possibilities these plants offer.  Come ask our friendly, knowledgeable staff which one of these Stepables best suits your garden.

Our Price: $3.99

Herbs
Herb Article Picture
Botanically speaking, a herb (herbaceaus plant)is any non-woody plant. However, with the increased interest in gourmet cooking in recent years the term is more often associated with culinary herbs.  They are, for the most part, easy to grow plants that can be drought-tolerant and resistant to insects and diseases.  Herbs can be divided into several categories.

  • Culinary Herbs are typically plants whose leafy green parts are used in small amounts to provide flavor in cooking.  This includes such plants as Rosemary, Thyme, Sage, Parsley, Basil, Mint, Oregano, Dill, and Bay leaf.
  • Medicinal Herbs are plants that have some beneficial effects on the body.  While many of the culinary herbs can also be used medicinally, some of the commonly used plants are Aloe, Lemon grass, and Fennel.
  • Aromatic Herbs are plants with enticing scents whose fragrant parts can be used for potpourri or as pest repellents.  Examples of these herbs are Lavender and Scented Geraniums.

Tip of the Week:  When moving your houseplants outside for a fresh air vacation, take care not to place them in direct sun.
