Donations and volunteers needed for STYLEDLIFE's
"Open Closet" at Perspectives, Weds. May 16th
Perspectives Family Center is a multi-services agency whose award winning prevention, intervention and recovery programs span three decades. Their target population is vulnerable, at-risk families and children whose lives have been derailed because of addiction, homelessness or mental illness.
Twice a year STYLEDLIFE and styledlook, inc., in partnership with Perspectives, hosts the Open Closet Night event at their center in St. Louis Park. On Weds., May 16th, a pop-up boutique will be created (in one day!) from the generous donations of clothes, accessories and shoes that have been collected. The women involved in the recovery program attend and receive outfits and styling assistance from the wardrobe experts of styledlook.
The goal? To give the women proper wardrobes and expert styling advice for their new lives. The payoff? So much more than a new outfit- it's the renewed self-confidence gained by the women. The relief of stress caused by not having what is needed to continue the next step in life- be it job interviews, attending school or going to work.
But we need your help! Donations and volunteers are needed very much and your donations are fully tax deductible.
- Women's new or gently used clothes- especially plus size clothing (up to 3x)
- New or gently used accessories- shoes, purses, jewelry, etc.
- Ask your friends and co-workers to make a clothing and/or accessory donation.
- Put your savvy shopping skills to the test! Purchase new, plus sized clothing to donate for Open Closet Night. Try stores like Layne Bryant, Target and outlet stores. Shop the sales or clearance racks and get more bang for your buck.
- Volunteer! Help is needed in a variety of tasks throughout the day & evening. Please contact Tim at 952.928.8888 or tim@styledlife.com with your offers of assistance.
