What a SIGNATURE can do for you.
Tip: Use your Email "signature" as a way to answer FAQs.
|
In our business, we get asked the same questions over and over again. It's a good thing.
For example, clients email me asking for our Overview of Services, for the list of Speedkeys that I mention in my seminar, and how I find time to train for triathlons while keeping up my full travel schedule, just to name a few.
Instead of typing each response from scratch or copy/pasting from a Word document, I've set up a number of "signatures" in my email settings to answer these frequently asked questions (FAQs).
Here's how to set it up in Microsoft Outlook:
Go to TOOLS in the menu bar Select OPTIONS Click on the MAIL FORMAT tab In SIGNATURE area, Click Signature Picker Click New.
Give this signature a name (like FAQ, Welcome Letter, expense report, etc.) Click Next In the Signature text box, type the text you want to include in the signature You can also paste text to the Signature text box from another document Remember to add your "traditional" signature info like your name, company & contact info.
Here's how to set it up in Microsoft Entourage:
Click on TOOLS from the menu bar Select SIGNATURES Click on NEW Give it a name Enter the text you want to appear.
PS If you're not using Outlook or Entourage for email or if your version is slightly different than the instructions above, remember you can also use the Index in HELP menu. Type in "signature." That should give you step by step instructions for your current email application.
