Call for Hazleton Area Artist

The Cultural Council of Luzerne County is calling for an artist from the Hazleton area to be the artist-in-residence for a collaborative community project in downtown Hazleton.

The project will be the work of the Cultural Council along with the Concerned Parents of the Hazleton Area (CPHA) and the United Way of Greater Hazleton. The project is being funded by the United Way's Jaws Youth fund.

The project includes providing some preliminary art lessons for children from 7 to 14 years of age. The capstone of the project will be the creation of a mural in a downtown Hazleton park. The mural must be completed no later than August 21^st. The stipend for the artist is $500.  Email your name and mailing address along with a brief description of your experience in working with children and include any experience you may have in developing a mural.
