Help Us Help You!

We receive a great many emails with events for our newsletter.  We wish we could include them all.  Here's how to increase the likelihood of being included:

  • Put your event on the WVIA ArtScene calendar.  We're sure to find it.  Just click Submit an event to the ArtScene calendar and fill in the blanks!
  • We like to copy and paste directly from your email to our newsletter, so please use plain text (or unadorned HTML) in your emails to us.
  • Include everything essential, but try to limit your notice to a paragraph or two.  Be sure to include your location, date(s) and time, contact information and whether the event is free (provide prices if not).
  • It's ok to attach an image, but we may not have room for it.  It helps if the image is small (maximum 200 x 200), but we can resize it if necessary.
  • Feel free to include a link for more information!
  • Try to send well in advance - preferably two weeks - but send anyway - we may have room at the last minute.  As of yet, we don't have a regular schedule, but we're aiming for every two weeks.
  • Over 4,000 people receive our news-letter, and the list is growing.  You can help us by forwarding it to folks - an easy way to inform them about YOUR event!  (See the"Forward" link at the bottom of the newsletter.)

Greetings! ,

From the Executive Director

Well, the forecast for 3rd Friday looks a little messy, but don't let that keep you at home.  Get out and about to find those last gifts and for some great fun!  We've created a new map to make your ArtWalk (or drive) easier, and there's MUCH to be seen!

But first, in case you miss the doings on Friday, we've got an opportunity to plug into a great event.  It will cost you, but it's for a good cause.

See you around town!

Mike Burnside

ps: Don't forget to list your event on the ArtScene Calendar at WVIA.  Instructions are on the left, as always.
3rd Friday WP
Celebrate with us at the Stegmaier Mansion

There's a little gathering at the Stegmaier Mansion on Tuesday, the 23rd from 6 to 9pm, and YOU"RE INVITED!  Hosted by Jennifer Morris of Siegel Artist Management, $20 of each ticket price of $60 will be a tax-deductible contribution to the Cultural Council!  All are welcome, and if you haven't seen this AMAZING place at 304 South Franklin Street in Wilkes-Barre, this is your chance!  Good company, good comestibles, a good cause, and a place that is just NOT to be missed.  (Click HERE if you don't believe me!)  Maybe we can get Joe to play a few riffs of Rachmaninov in the parlor!

We hope you will join us!  Openings are limited and if you want to come, you MUST call Jennifer at 824-2266 by 5pm on FRIDAY!

Friday on the Square

This Friday is your last chance!  PUBLIC SQUARE is the place to be from noon to 6pm.  The Downtown WB Business Association and the City are sponsoring "Downtown for the Holidays."  It's like going back in time!  Read about it: Downtown for the Holidays.

Avoid the crunch and shop downtown!
