Caring for Caregivers

Over 300,000 Iowans are caregivers to either a friend or family member. Providing care to family or friends who are over the age of 60 is a commitment that can, at times, be stressful. To say thank you and to encourage the great work done by caregivers, Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging is holding a "Tips and Tools for Caregivers" conference.

The conference will be held on Friday, November 6 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Cedar Valley Community Church at 3520 Ansborough Avenue in Waterloo. For $10, each participant will receive lunch, materials, gifts and a full day of speakers that will provide valuable information for caregivers.

Conference-goers will also enjoy the opportunity to interact with other members of the community who LIVE UNITED by providing this great service to their loved ones.

The "Tips and Tools for Caregivers" conference is sponsored by Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging, Active Style, Home Instead Senior Care, Valley Services and KWWL.

Preregistration is required. For more information on registration or respite care call (319) 272-1767 or toll free at 877-538-0508.
