Cedar Valley Chase
Put on your running shoes because it's time for the Cedar Valley Chase! This event will test your skills while you and a partner compete in challenges racing from location to location in the Cedar Valley. The team that completes their challenges and crosses the finish line first will take home the gold. Prizes are awarded to first, second, and third place winners.
Don't run off after the race (even if your team wasn't a top-finisher). We're having a party following the chase for all participants at Spicoli's on University Avenue. Stick around for food, fun, and the chance to win great raffle prizes!
Every dollar from the event is donated to Cedar Valley United Way. You can LIVE UNITED by registering your team online now at www.cedarvalleychase.com.
Think you're ready for the Cedar Valley Chase? You better be because it's only a few days away! Join us Saturday, September 26, 2009. Check-in begins at 11:15 a.m. and the race is on at 12:00 p.m. - don't be late!

| Cedar Valley SHARE |
|
Cedar Valley SHARE is a program that thanks community volunteers by offering them the opportunity to purchase groceries at a discounted price. Anyone in the Cedar Valley with at least two hours of volunteering is eligible to order food packages. Participants of Cedar Valley SHARE have found it easy to exceed this requirement, whether by assisting the elderly or volunteering for local agencies, churches, and schools. Once you have logged your volunteer hours, place your food order by contacting Northeast Iowa Food Bank or The Salvation Army. Distribution takes place at the Black Hawk Labor Temple on the fourth Saturday of each month. Union members volunteer their time and talents to assist with distribution. These organizations help make this program available for the community. Place your orders by Friday, October 9, and pick them up on Saturday, October 24.
