Event Details
The Cedar Valley United Way Golf Classic will be an 8-inch cup, four person best shot. Each golfer has a chance to win numerous prizes. $100 per player includes greens fees, cart, an AMF VMC putter, prizes and dinner after golf. Register now!

Campaign Director Opening
Cedar Valley United Way is lookng for an individual to coordinate our workplace campaigns. This position will establish relationships with donors, volunteers and community members. This position will also lead event planning.
 
Excellent communication, relationship building, interpersonal, and strategic planning skills are required. A bachelor's degree and 2 years' experience in resource development, sales or marketing is preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience and background. Competitive benefit package is included.

Workers Memorial Day
The Black Hawk Union Council will hold a Workers Memorial Day Event tonight at the Black Hawk Labor Temple, 1695 Burton Ave., Waterloo starting at 6 p.m. with guest speaker Dave Neil who is the Iowa Labor Commissioner. The names of workers who have lost their lives while at work in the last year will be read along with Iowa Armed Services Members. There will be other speakers and a meal will follow. The unions of the AFL-CIO observe Workers Memorial Day to remember those who have suffered and died on the job and to renew the fight for safe workplaces. The toll of workplace injuries, illnesses and deaths is enormous. Each year thousands of workers are killed and millions more injured or diseased because of their jobs.
