In the Home Stretch: Second Half Group "stretches" fellow member Contributed by Bill Hogate, member of the Second Half Group
In April 2009, as NEM participant Chris Tompkins cycled with his buddies, tragedy struck. An automobile passed the pack and made an abrupt left-hand turn. Chris hit the side of the car, and after being rushed to VCU Medical Center, the verdict came in: a severe injury to his upper spine. Soon thereafter, Gordon Prior, this month's speaker, and the leader of the Needle's Eye Second Half group, learned of Chris's situation and asked how he could help. Read more
