The Next Generation of Business Leaders CHAT & NEM's 2nd Half Group Join Forces
What do teens living in Church Hill, a retiree from NEM's Second
Half Group, and Abraham Lincoln have in common? A couple of things actually.
Over the course of the summer, as a part of its missional
focus, members of Needle's Eye's 2nd Half Group have connected with
CHAT (Church Hill Activities and Tutoring) "Street Leaders" in order to share
business tips and information while encouraging one another in their faith.
CHAT's Street Leaders are a group of 9 students, ages 13-18,
who have been hand selected out of 28 applicants to be young entrepreneurs this
summer. Their summer projects include: "Nehemiah's Workshop," a wood-working
business that builds picnic tables and corn hole sets; "Sew New" which makes
purses and quilts; and the CHAT summer day camp for younger campers. Read more
