Greetings!

Happy August!

We'd like to introduce the newest member of our team, Brad Cabus! Brad joins our Client and Talent Services team as Account Executive. He'll focus on connecting the perfect talent with the right client. Brad is a graduate of the Scripps College of Communications at Ohio University and has past work experience in the agency, corporate and PR world. Welcome, Brad!

You might notice that our ezine looks a little different this month. We've added two ne

Our Executive Search team will expertly find your next creative professional. We also recently freshened up our website with new colors, images and drop-down navigation links. See what you think! www.portfolioiscreative.com.

There are still two weeks left to donate items for patients at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Through our philanthropy committee, Creative Next, we're collecting art supplies to inspire and encourage creativity in the young people of our community. Click here to see what supplies are needed and schedule a pick-up.

Thanks to everyone who has donated thus far!

Top 5 Reasons a Creative Person is Let Go

Catherine Lang-Cline, Owner

"First it must be said: the shelf life for a creative person is not very long. Two to maybe eight years is a long run anywhere because creative people need change. That sometimes comes by their choice and sometimes it's someone else's choice. But the reasons are typically the same."

A recent Illumination Bureau attendee had this to say about us:

"These courses specialize in things you would never find in traditional college offerings, that is invaluable."

"Every creative person has one of 'those days' where we just don't feel creative, our ideas seem stale and we're boring ourselves let alone the client. The next time you need a boost to your creativity, try one (or all) of these tips."

Portfolio Creative is not just a staffing company. Did you know we have years of experience in direct hire? We're experts in our industry and we'd be happy to help find that next professional who can do the job better than anyone else.

We're excited to launch a video that helps explain how our direct hire division works. We call it Executive Search.

New Year, New Initiatives

Green Tip
Do you ask for paper or plastic when at the grocery store? Honestly, neither is a good choice. Twelve million barrels of oil were used to make 88.5 billion plastic bags consumed in the United States last year. And it takes four times more energy to make paper bags. The best choice is reusable shopping bags made of cotton, nylon, or durable, mesh-like plastic. If you happen to forget your reusable bags, choose paper if you will recycle or plastic if you will reuse it.

Wellness Tip

August is National Immunization Awareness Month. If you have kids, chances are you've talked to their health care provider about all the options. But, did you know that lots of adults aren't up-to-date on their shots? Immunity can fade over time, newer vaccines are available or you may have missed some of your shots when you were younger. It's not too late to catch up, talk to your health care provider to learn more.
