Kristen Harris and Catherine Lang-Cline, co-owners of Portfolio Creative, are deeply honored to have been selected as finalists for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, the world's most prestigious award for entrepreneurs. Now in its 26 th year, the program's independent judges selected Portfolio Creative as one of 23 finalists from the Southern Ohio and Kentucky region. Award winners will be announced at a regional gala on June 28 th at the Cincinnati Hyatt Regency. More than 1,700 entries were received this year from among the country's most deserving entrepreneurs. Lastly, we're participating in the Business Journals Social Madness Challenge. Over the next two weeks, our social media presence on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn will be judged using a proprietary algorithm. We'll be competing against other small companies in Central Ohio with the chance to advance to the national bracket. Would you kindly vote for us from the link below? CSCA Pinewood Derby
 CSCA's annual Pinewood Derby is an outrageously fun event with
ridiculously tiny art cars. All of which are vying for pride, glory,
and the strangest trophies you've ever seen.  The Derby isn't just for the racers, of course - it's for anyone who enjoys a little trash talking, a lot of noise, and a deep appreciation for these amazing (and hilarious) homemade hot rods. Date: Thursday, June 21st Time: 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm Location: CD101's Big Room Cost: $5 for spectators. Parking is free. Beer available. Check out these pics from last year!

Our Wellness Committee has some important sun safety tips from the American Cancer Society:
Planning a vacation or business trip with outdoor activities? Going for a swim? Or just enjoying the sunshine? Many skin cancers are preventable if you follow a few simple steps to shield your skin from harmful UV rays. Remember these tips before you head outside:
Slip! on a shirt, preferably a dark-colored one with tightly woven fabric and long sleeves. Slop! on sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 15 or more.
Slap! on a wide-brimmed hat.
Wrap! on sunglasses that block UV rays to protect your eyes from the sun.
Stay in the shade, particularly between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
A friendly note from our Green Team regarding batteries!
Instead of continuously buying traditional batteries, buy rechargeable batteries instead. You would have to use hundreds of single-use batteries to equal the energy from one rechargeable battery. No matter which type of battery you use, recycle all used batteries to keep harmful metals from entering the environment.
In Columbus you can take your used batteries (and many portable electronics) to local Batteries Plus locations for recycling.

On Tuesday, June 5th, join us at the OSU Department of Design Exhibition. Every year the Department of Design hosts an exhibition featuring the senior theses of the undergraduates from each of the three programs: Industrial Design, Interior Design and Visual Communication Design. This exhibition is the culmination of the students' design experience at The Ohio State University. Digfest (Drinks in Grandview) will be happening in our back 'yard' on Saturday, June 16th from 4:00 pm. - 10:00 pm. Come out and sample locally made craft beers, liquors and wine.
