Greetings!
Happy April!
This month we launched Illumination Bureau, continuing education courses for creative professionals. We're really excited as these classes will give professionals the skills we know employers want most, making them even more marketable. Classes are led by industry professionals and the curriculum will provide students with work samples they can share with potential employers to demonstrate their abilities. Class sizes are limited to allow for personal attention and feedback. Our first two classes, web design and copywriting, are currently filled and underway. Stay tuned for upcoming announcements on more 2012 classes! | | Illumination Bureau's Inaugural Web Design Class |

Opportunity Knocks
Where Is All The Good Talent?
Catherine Lang-Cline, Owner
"The "go it alone" approach to hiring may have worked in the past, but the marketplace is more competitive than ever. A battle is upon us to find and hire the very best talent. People are being picked up quickly and a better strategy is needed."

Bottled Water
Did you know it takes 26 bottles of water to produce the plastic container for a one-liter bottle of water, and that doing so pollutes 25 liters of groundwater? Don't leave a trail of plastic water bottles in your wake! Stop buying bottled water. Use reusable water bottles instead made from materials like stainless steel or aluminum that are not likely to degrade over time. If you choose a plastic water bottle, check the number on the bottom first: Plastics numbered 3, 6 and 7 could pose a health threat to you, so look for plastics numbered 1, 2, 4 or 5.

Raise Your Game
If You're Not Growing Your Career, Who is?
Kristen Harris, Owner
"Employers aren't looking to train people or take the time for a learning curve--granted, that may be unrealistic, but it is their expectation. Daunting, right? Building your own career and seeking your own training opportunities has always been important to independent workers or freelancers, but now it's a necessity for everyone."
