Greetings!

Portfolio Creative Team members work the assembly line at The Mid-Ohio Foodbank (L-R): Amanda Zechiel, Jennifer Brown, Kristen Harris, Catherine Lang-Cline.
Happy October!

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of volunteering at the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. What a great, fulfilling experience! Nearly 20% of the food received by the Foodbank must be sorted and packaged before it's delivered to people in need. We inspected foods that were damaged at the grocery store and then sorted the items by category. If you or your company would like to help fight hunger in our community, consider volunteering your time or holding a food drive.

On separate note, congratulations to our own Amanda Zechiel (Client & Talent Services) for becoming a Certified Staffing Professional with The American Staffing Association. Out of over 205,800 staffing employees in the U.S., only around 4,000 hold this professional distinction. All of us at Portfolio are committed to holding this important certification which allows us to better understand labor and employment law principles and ethical practices.

Catherine Lang-Cline, Owner

"It is difficult to be between jobs. Even though another job will eventually come to you, it can be challenging to stay positive and motivated. There are many things you can do to shorten your unemployment, or at least make it a productive period of growth that benefits you and others."

Resume Writing for Career Change

"Employers read resumes VERY quickly. They skim, really, looking for specific words, phrases, previous employers, software, and skills. They do not generally take the time to interpret or try to decipher things that are unclear. You have to be concise and clear or you likely won't be invited for an interview."
