Creative Scene Columbus has a unique new destination, High Five. Five districts along 5 miles of historic High Street will unite to become the Soho of NY, the Miracle Mile of Chicago, the French Quarter of New Orleans. A grassroots partnership is uniting German Village, Downtown Columbus, The Arena District, the Short North and the University District to create a new destination brand.
The stretch between Thurman Avenue and Arcadia Avenue has over 150 restaurants, 200 stores and boutiques, 40 art galleries, 50 entertainment venues and over 100 annual events. The districts will join forces to offer people countless attractions and experiences. Pocket maps can be picked up around town and the website is live at www.columbushighfive.com. And we love the logo. Good work Ologie.

Opportunity Knocks Temporary Staffing Compliance
Portfolio Owner, Catherine Lang-Cline, offers expert advice on how a placement agency can keep you in IRS compliance. Click the link below the excerpt to read the entire article.
"There was a time when you could just have someone come in and do some work for you, but no longer. The U.S. government is looking for hidden money. One of the ways they have done this in the past was asking people who worked for tips to claim that money in order to be taxed. Now they are looking for funds in places like temporary employment."

Out & About

We'll be attending Ohio Biz Match on March 24th. Small businesses and government buyers in one place!
More than 150 buyers will be on hand for one-on-one meetings with small businesses. Buyers are from city, state, county, and federal agencies, as well as prime contractors and other organizations with combined purchasing budgets representing hundreds of millions of dollars worth of opportunities.
If you've ever considered selling your products or services to government agencies, this is a perfect opportunity to meet vendors and hand out your business card.

 Raise Your Game
What are Employers Looking For?
Kristen Harris, Portfolio Owner, shares her published article on the skills and traits that employers are looking for.
"Performance skills, or "soft skills," are the behaviors exhibited while doing the work. They're really the way you approach your work and manage your projects. Going beyond knowing software or being able to execute a task, it's also being able to communicate clearly, set and achieve goals, and work well with your team."
