Can you believe it's almost Labor Day?  To help you celebrate the kids returning to school we are extending our white wine sale through this weekend: 20% off six bottles or more.  Panzano will be open normal hours on Monday and Tomasso will be open for dinner at 5:30 but closed for lunch.

We are putting the finishing touches on our next "local" dinner.  The last one in July was incredibly popular and we have had many requests to have another one.

On Friday September 28th we will be serving a "Six State" dinner.  All of the ingredients will come from the six New England states with at least one ingredient from each of the states.  All the details on the menu and wine pairings will be available within the next week.  Tickets for the dinner (not including the wine) will be $60/person plus tax and gratuity.  We will be limiting attendance this time so call early to buy your ticket: 508-481-8484.

Lastly, please give Tomasso's new private events web page a look.  It now contains pictures and updated sample menus.

We hope to see you this week at Tomasso and Panzano.

Italian Pantry Essentials

Imported Pinoli, Fennel Seed & Wild Rosemary 10% off this week!

Every cuisine has a collection of dry, canned, preserved and fresh staple ingredients that form the backbone of its repertoire. These staples show up time and again in countless dishes and define the characteristic tastes and textures of the cuisine. Most of what makes up a typical Italian meal is fresh food, procured and cooked within hours of being eaten. However, there are a number of pantry staples kept on hand to turn these fresh ingredients into a vast array of dishes.  Some obvious Italian essentials include Extra Virgin Olive Oil, capers, olives, tomatoes, beans, legumes, rice, and dried herbs.  READ MORE>

Labor of Love

With Fall right around the bend, wine geeks and connoisseurs everywhere are beginning to turn their heads toward the richer styles that stand as icons of the colder months - Valpolicella, Barolo, Amarone; wines that can wrap you in their warmth and character and embrace you like an old friend, bringing anyone back to life even in the depths of the coldest winter. It is now, on our side of the equator at least, that things are really starting to happen in the vineyard. The long, hot days of August signify the coming of veraison, when the precious grapes that have soaked in the summer sun begin to ripen, becoming soft and deepening in color. All across Europe and the New World, vintners are making ready their cellars, calling on friends, neighbors, and family, and preparing for the harvest in the first weeks of September. Fortunately, here in this country we are given one last opportunity for a Summer hurrah - Labor Day.   READ MORE>
