As we approach the "dog days" of summer, it seems like an appropriate time to learn more about Italian white wines. Our August 23rd wine seminar, "Beyond Pinot Grigio: A Tour of Italian White Wines" will be led by Lisa Kaplan, Regional Director of wine importer Domaine Select Wine Estates. The seminar will begin at 7PM on Thursday, August 23rd at Tomasso and costs $45 per person. Look for more details later this week.
Please join us for Panzano's annual Food Artisan Showcase & Tasting on Saturday August 18th from 1-4PM. This is a chance to taste some great treats and meet some of the local folks that produce chocolate, coffee, cheese, beer, honey, and more.
Thanks to everyone that "Liked" Tomasso's Facebook Page in July. Because of you, we will be sending an additional $112 to support this year's Southborough Summer Nights.
We hope to see you this week at Tomasso and Panzano.

Summer Sippers for the Whole Family
Locally Made Spindrift Soda Featured this Week
With the summer heat hitting hard, we thought we needed to cool things down this week with a refreshing local product. Believe it or not, the whole family can come by Panzano for a refreshing cold sparkling beverage this summer, Spindrift Sodas.

However, on occasion Creelman's mother would treat her family to natural, clear soda with no artificial colors, made purely with carbonated water, sugar and natural flavors. This family story inspired Creelman to create something even more pure and delicious for his own children, and thus Spindrift was born. READ MORE>

BY SHAUN SNOW
COMPLIMENTARY TASTING FRIDAY 5-7pm · SATURDAY 4-7pm
Power and Grace
With a rich and diverse history of winemaking that stretches back more than fifteen hundred years, Tuscany has made leaps and bounds in the quality and popularity of its wines, becoming what could be considered the most famous wine region in all of Italy. It is the terroir, as well as the talent of its vintners, that has helped launch it onto the world stage displaying both immense power and a subtle grace that has come to signify the wines of Tuscany. Warm ocean air from off the coast combined with the cool breezes of the Apennine foothills, coupled with a well-drained, dry soil of clay and sand allows grapevines to flourish while still preserving a balance of sugar, acidity, and aroma. Its many rivers and valleys create microclimates that produce distinct and highly different styles and though undoubtedly known best for the internationally acclaimed wines of Chianti and its powerhouse grape, Sangiovese, other varietals have been planted throughout Tuscan soil for just as long.
