One of AMTELCO's long time customers in Illinois, contacted AMTELCO's Field Engineering Department Friday, September 25, 2009 around 12:00 p.m. and asked about using our Emergency Services. They were completely down and all phone lines and Internet connections were lost. Someone cut a fibre link in Chicago resulting in 700 T1 spans being cut. The cut affected hospitals, 911 PSAP's (Public Safety Answering Point), call centers, and other communication centers.

AMTELCO had the customers database on file. AMTELCO's Field Engineering started the restore of the database as soon as they were contacted. The customer was trying to determine how long the outage was going to be before they asked to use AMTELCO's Emergency Access service.

Infinity SMS Text Messaging, Incoming and Outgoing, Generates New Income for Your Call Center

SMS text messaging has grown to become a critical dispatching method to send text messages to client cell phones. Sending SMS text messages is now an integral component of both Infinity message dispatching and Intelligent message contact dispatching. Both Infinity and the Intelligent Series support sending and receiving SMS text messages with all cellular carriers.
Send SMS text messages to your clients directly from the Infinity and Intelligent Series via cellular modems or Internet-based SMS aggregators.

Clients can send and reply to SMS text messages update the status of the message to confirm receipt or converse with the operator.
AMTELCO's VoIP Board Provides Native VoIP Switching directly within the Infinity Server.

This eliminates
the need for separate stand-alone VoIP gateways. The XDS VoIP Board supports VoIP operator audio. This can replace current hardwired or dialup analog operator audio, eliminating the need for dedicated operator audio boards and cabling. With the XDS VoIP Board, operator audio can be established over the TCP/IP network using a protocol called SIP. This can be used for both local operators and remote operators connecting via the Internet.

MiteyMite Messenger -
Become on integral part of your clients' daily contacts and make money providing a simple-to-use desktop application.

MiteyMite Messenger (MMM) extends the power and versatility of the call center's directories to every call center customer's desktop. MMM recognizes input and presents action options, from dialing calls directly to incrementally searching directories and presenting the user with ever-narrowing search results to find the exact information and action sequence to contact an individual.

Desktop Messages can easily be entered and quickly sent to the selected person.

MMM makes it easy to choose how you want to contact the person.
Tax Incentives for Equipment Leasing Expire Soon
The 2009 incentives for equipment acquisition available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will expire at the end of 2009.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 provides for 50% bonus depreciation on eligible new 2009 equipment, substantially accelerating the normal MACRS depreciation profile, and resulting in increased economic benefits.

Consult your own accounting and tax advisors for more information about taking advantage of these substantial investment incentives
