We hope you all enjoyed Charlotte Gerson's talk at the Healing Cancer World Summit - we sure did! We admit that as Charlotte Gerson's biggest fans we might be a little biased, so we asked our friends on the Gerson Institute's Facebook page for their thoughts on the Summit. One follower, Glenda, said:
"Everything I have read, everything that I have watched and everything I have listened to from Charlotte Gerson is my favorite. She is one awesome lady! She is one of the angels on earth, Charlotte Gerson makes a difference in the lives she touches whether written or in person. We are all so blessed that she chose to share her life and family with all of us."
We are so glad Charlotte was invited to participate in this event, which gave her the opportunity to share her experience and educate others about the Gerson Therapy. About 50,000 people tuned in to the event, so with so many new people hearing about the Gerson Therapy and wanting to learn more, the Institute has been extra busy!
But that wasn't the only exciting event going on at the Institute this October! We also held an open house for our new neighbors in Normal Heights, San Diego.
We had a bigger turnout than expected, and Charlotte Gerson stopped by to meet everyone. Our Events Coordinator Lynne Bacaj, who organized the event, summed it up thusly:
"Old friends and new, juicing demos, a harvest table, book browsing, info sharing, laughter, hugs, and an informal address by Charlotte -- our Open House to introduce the Gerson Institute to our new neighbors in the vibrant Adams Avenue corridor of Normal Heights was a huge success!"

Day in the Life

A Day in the Life of a Gerson Patient
If you've never done the full Gerson Therapy yourself, you might wonder how on earth could anyone fit it all into one day! Taking as many as 13 juices, 5 enemas and three fresh meals is certainly a full-time job, so establishing a daily routine is key to doing the Therapy as efficiently and effectively as possible. For a glimpse at the daily life of a Gerson patient, check out Wellness Warrior's recent post, Diary of a Gerson Person: A Day (Every Day) in the Life. Jess shares her own daily routine, to give you an idea of the daily routine for a Gerson patient.
6am: My alarm wakes me up. It's one of those retro battery operated ones with the bells on top, so it scares the crap out of me every morning.. Once I'm up I walk bleary eyed to the bathroom, wash my face and roll out my yoga mat and towels for my first coffee enema of the day.
6:30am: Enema done! Now it's time for five minutes of dry body brushing before jumping in the shower. I make sure I shower before the rest of the house wakes up and starts turning on taps. If there is water running anywhere else in the house while I'm in the shower I will get scorched.
6:45am: I walk upstairs and into the meditation room for half an hour of Zen time, saying good morning and giving my little pug girl Edie a bum scratch on my way.
7:15am: Dad's finished preparing breakfast, so I sit down at the table to a glass of fresh orange juice (juice #1) and rolled oats with raw honey, sultanas, kiwi fruit and stewed apple. Every. Single. Morning. Lucky I love oats. Even after 18 months of this, it's still my favourite meal.

| Need help starting the Gerson Therapy at home? | |
The Gerson Institute trains Home Set-up Trainers to go to a client's home to help them prepare their home environment for starting the Gerson Therapy by:

- Assisting and teaching the client and/or family members to prepare the Gerson food and juices.
- Organizing the kitchen and equipment and helping the patient to acquire a proper juicer.
- Providing Gerson-approved resources and information for obtaining Gerson supplies.
- Locating sources for organic foods and preparing shopping lists.
- Making recommendations for establishing a non-toxic environment in the home.
Most people need to follow the Gerson Therapy for a minimum of two years. The daily preparation of three meals and up to 13 juices made from approximately 20 pounds of organic vegetables and fruit is very labor intensive. Making the transition from one's "normal" life to life on the Gerson Therapy can be daunting, and there is a lot to learn. Because of the hard work involved, many people doing the Gerson Therapy at home can benefit from the services of a certified Gerson Home Set-up Trainer. Home Set-up Trainers are not medical professionals, so they do not provide medical advice or prescribe the Gerson protocol. Home Set-up Trainers are not employees of the Gerson Institute or the clinic. They are independent contractors and set their own rates. To obtain a referral to a Certified Home Set-up Trainer, contact Blanca Ayala bayala@gerson.org or 619-685-5353 ext. 116 at the Gerson Institute to see if their services would be suitable for your needs. Your Stories

Hello there, I love seeing the Gerson name come up in my email inbox. My mother was at La Gloria for a couple of years in the early eighties. She not only was able to maintain a healthy, comfortable lifestyle until she finally passed in 1985, but also was able to concieve my sister while enduring her brain cancer struggle. My sister, Sion Alexandria Colmus, has grown up to be a beautiful young adult and has become a mom herself four years ago. It is amazing to witness the life cycles. I am so grateful that my mother found the Gerson Institute all those years ago. No one could grasp the imortance of what you were offering in the world to all of us then. Especially in this day and age, when corporations are keeping humanity sick. Thank you for being a beacon in the darkness. You helped my mother live through the last days of her life knowing she did not have to sacrifice her beliefs or harm her body to heal. Your devotion to sharing this information that all humans have the right to know has not only helped my mother, but myself, my sister and my niece. We are four generations that are better in this world because of what you do. Many blessings and much love, Mikki Colmus
