Happy Birthday Charlotte!
Charlotte Gerson turned 87 on March 27. At the birthday celebration at the Gerson Institute, Charlotte spoke of her strategy for dealing with opponents. "You just have to out-live them," she said!

Sign up for the Caregiver and Gerson Therapy Basics Training
DATE: June 26-28
LOCATION: The Gerson Institute, San Diego, California
A two and a half day training for individuals intending to provide Gerson care for themselves or a loved one, or for non-licensed health care providers wishing to expand their range of knowledge. It is also the first class for someone desiring to become a professional caregiver. You will learn:
- Overview of the Gerson Therapy by Charlotte Gerson
- Food preparation and juicing demonstrations by Gerson experts
- How to do a coffee enema, safe injection techniques and preparing clay and castor oil packs
- Handouts and seminars on caring for patients, coping with healing reactions, recipes, food preparation, cooking tips and kitchen organization, Food Reference Guide, medication instructions, order forms, resource lists, and more.

We continually strive to find ways to improve our services or provide new programs to more effectively teach the Gerson Therapy. We are considering starting to offer one-hour teleconferences on different aspects of the Gerson Therapy for a $50 fee.

We are having a booth at the annual Healing Arts Festival at Balboa Park in San Diego, 10 - 6 p.m. Charlotte will be doing a book signing from 2-4 p.m. Stop by and say hello!
Green Book Festival
The Gerson Institute has entered Charlotte Gerson and Beatta Bishops's recent book, Healing the Gerson Way, and Howard Straus's book, Dr. Max Gerson: Healing the Hopeless, into the Green Book Festival in Los Angeles this month.

Volunteers Needed!
We are building a new project worldwide: our GIFT(Gerson International Friends Team) List, along with a map to show where everybody is located.
Would you like to become a GIFT person? Joining our list would mean that you want to do at least one activity to assist the Gerson Institute, in whatever way you would like, and that we would communicate with you from time to time when opportunities arise in your area to see if you want to participate.
The following are some examples of what Gerson Friends are already doing, or what you might want to do:

Give us information on places to buy enema buckets, organic produce, organic coffee, or other Gerson Therapy supplies in your area, to improve our Products Resources List.

When we have a showing of our documentaries in your area, you could publicize it or distribute leaflets and get contact information from people interested in the therapy.

Find book stores and local libraries that are willing to carry our books and DVDs.

Set up a showing of a Gerson documentary in your house, at a local library or at a health practitioner's office.

Distribute brochures at health lectures and talks that you do, or at community events.
-
Give sample newsletters to friends and ask if they would like to become a member of the Gerson Institute.

Volunteer to create an organic garden for a Gerson patient in your area.
