Statement from LPMC Chairman Timothy Maguire:

When I accepted the position of Chairman of the LPMC back in 2009, my goals were simple: increase the Party's budget, improve media relations, recruit more candidates and volunteers, and create a winning culture with local libertarians. While our young party still has further to go and more to improve, I am proud of our accomplishments and I can truly say that it has been my pleasure to serve as the County Chairman.

However, all things must come to an end, and after much reflection I have decided not to run for re-election as Chairman when the LPMC officers come up for election on January 18, 2011. I do plan to remain on the Executive Board as an At-Large member, as it is my intention to remain active in the Party's leadership.

With all of the amazing new talent we have recruited over the last few years, I feel confident that the Party will be in good hands. Additionally, this move will allow my wife and I to focus on our business endeavors and City-County Councilor Ed Coleman's re-election campaign.

Many thanks, again, to all that helped make the last two years such a great success and I look forward to our victories in 2011.

The Libertarian Party is the third largest political party in the United States, and is the only non-major party with ballot access in the state of Indiana. Libertarians believe in a small non-intrusive government that is financially responsible, administratively competent and socially tolerant.

ABOUT THE LIBERTARIAN PARTY
The Libertarian Party is America, and Indiana's, third largest political party founded in 1971 as an alternative to the two main political parties. Its vision is for a world in which all individuals can freely exercise the natural right of sole dominion over their own lives, liberty and property by building a political party that elects Libertarians to public office, and moving public policy in a libertarian direction.

The Libertarian Party of Indiana was formed in 1974, and has maintained ballot access since 1994. Sam Goldstein, an Indianapolis resident, currently serves as Chairman.
