Hi Everyone!

As you may know, Sept. 5-12 is National Suicide Prevention Week and CrisisLink is hosting a series of fun events to help raise awareness of this important issue!

Here are four fun things you can do to help us recognize and raise awareness of suicide prevention!

Dogfish Head Alehouse Fundraiser & Volunteer Social Event
Tuesday, Sept. 7, 11am - 10pm, Dogfish Head Alehouse, Falls Church
Join your fellow volunteers for this yummy (and fun!) volunteer social event and fundraiser to support CrisisLink's Hotline.  Light appetizers will be provided for volunteers and chances to win special prizes!  Dogfish Head will also generously donate 15% of the day's sales to CrisisLink.

Life Rocks! Benefit Concert to Prevent Youth Suicide
Thursday, Sept. 9, 6-9pm, Jammin' Java Music Club & Cafe
Reedo and popular local teen band Berrett & Harrison will help us raise awareness among teens about the resources available to them if they, or a friend, are in crisis.  Youth calls have skyrocketed this year, and it is vitally important that we get our Hotline numbers in their hands!

Volunteers needed to help collect tickets, distribute information, and sell merchandise at the event.

CrisisLink Open House
Wednesday, Sept. 8, 12-2pm and 6-8pm, CrisisLink Offices
Come visit us at our new location!  Visit with donors, members of the Board, staff, and volunteers while touring our beautiful new offices and call center, thanks to the support of Virginia Hospital Center.  Light food and refreshments will be provided.

CrisisLink at the Washington Nationals Game!
Saturday, Sept. 11, 1:00pm, Nationals Park
The Washington Nationals and CrisisLink have partnered to reach out to thousands of DC residents with resources on preparing for major disasters and crises.  Volunteers are needed to help distribute CrisisLink resources to Nationals fans on Saturday, September 11. We will have our very own kiosk inside the stadium, distributing information to thousands of fans! Bring friends to help you and catch the game afterward!

(Note: If you purchase tickets to the game through our site, a portion of your ticket purchase will benefit CrisisLink.  Link will be available on our website in the coming days so please check back!)

We Want to Highlight YOUR Good Work!
I will be creating a Volunteer Wall in our new space - but we need photos!  If you are a current volunteer (hotline, special events, outreach, etc), please send us a photo of yourself (you can be alone, with friends, even riding a camel!) that we can display on our wall of volunteers to recognize the wonderful people that support us every day.

Your support on our Hotline and with our special events and outreach, is the only reason we are able to provide critical services to the community.  We hope to see you there!

All the best,
Elizabeth
