 National Suicide Prevention Week is Sept. 9-15, 2007
 800,000+ Americans attempt suicide each year

Approximately 811,000 Americans attempt suicide each year and an estimated 5 million Americans are survivors of the suicide of a friend, family member, or loved one. To raise awareness of this major public health problem, the American Association of Suicidology (AAS) has declared September 9-15, 2007 to be National Suicide Prevention Week, in conjunction with the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the World Federation for Mental Health's World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10.

 Refer a Volunteer and Receive Special Event Ticket
 Your assistance is needed!

CrisisLink is currently seeking volunteers to listen and respond to those in need. Refer a volunteer who successfully completes the Fall 2007 training program and you will receive a complimentary ticket to January's Party for Life, a special event featuring live music, food, and entertainment.

CrisisLink invites you to learn more about our Hotline, volunteers, and how you can involve yourself with us. Join us on September 17, 2007 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at Arlington's Central Library. This is your chance to find out what volunteering on a Hotline is like, to discover other ways of getting involved, and to learn about an organization that has been a part of the Northern Virginia Community for over 38 years.

 CrisisLink's Hotline Training Starts Oct. 6th
 Fill Out an Application Today!

CrisisLink offers hotline training quarterly; our Fall 2007 training begins Oct. 6th. The training is interactive, fun, and prepares you to take calls from those in our community facing a crisis or trauma, or who are in need of an empathic ear.

Come and join a team of volunteers who dedicate 3 hours a week to listening and responding to those in need. Fill out a volunteer online application today!

 CrisisLink Receives New Combined Federal Campaign Code
 CrisisLink's New CFC Code is 98663

The federal Office of Personnel and Management Office of CFC Operations has issued CrisisLink a new, permanent charity code for use with the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) federal workplace giving program. Federal employees wishing to designate CrisisLink as a recipient organization should use charity code 98663.
