Market Update - Just the Facts

"How's the real estate market?" Even people that have no intention of buying or selling a home always want to know. The numbers are in for Sussex County, Delaware, for January and February and Units Sold are up significantly and inventory of the homes you are looking for is way down, prices are still reasonable and interest rates still hover around 4%. Realtors in Sussex County sold 182 homes in January and 196 homes in February, an increase of 29% over 2010. No kidding. In the past 12 months, the Active Adults Delaware Team ranked #23 in all of Sussex County for Total Volume. We are looking forward to a great 2012.

My favorites are topped with the Three Bs - The Beach, The Boardwalk and The Bandstand! - The Beach has been replenished and the wide expanse is ready for Summer.
- The Boardwalk has new boards great for strolling or power walking the one mile stretch. Bill says it reminds him of his childhood, memories of the games and the rides - and they are still there today.
- The Rehoboth Bandstand and the great concerts all summer long.

Reverse Mortgages are not just for the older seniors anymore. In fact, Baby Boomers in their early 60's now make up 20% of the prospective reverse mortgage candidates! Why?
According to Sandra Timmermann, director of the MetLife Mature Market Institute, "Consumer attitudes about reverse mortgages are changing because the recession has eroded confidence about retirement security and Americans will rely more and more on these measures.
"As reverse mortgages do not have income requirements and since the other forms of credit have become less accessible, these loans will become more attractive," she added.
