Greetings!
Welcome to the first Food for Thought of 2008!  We hope the New Year finds you healthy and well-rested after the busy holiday season.

In this issue, we talk about things to expect in 2008, from trends to technology.  We also give you a preview of what's in store for Progressive Gourmet this year.

What to Expect on Menus in 2008
As we jump into the New Year, we can expect new trends to start popping up on menus across the country.  Trends that start off in fine dining establishments eventually trickle down to more mainstream foodservice venues.  This article, from Prepared Foods online, discusses how trends make the jump from fine dining to mainstream and what trends to expect on menus in 2008.
Will Technology Save You Money?
As labor costs continue to rise and loyal employees become harder to find, new technology can help your establishment keep some costs down, while putting your guests more in control of their orders.  This article from Restaurant Business' web site talks about some emerging technologies for the restaurant industry.
Progressive Gourmet Celebrates 15 Years in 2008
Progressive Gourmet will be observing its 15th Anniversary in 2008.  To celebrate, Food for Thought will be highlighting some of the customers who have made us so successful for the last 15 years.  In next month's issue, we will feature the first of our Chef Spotlight articles.  Be sure to check out what your colleagues have to say about the state of your industry and their favorite foods and hobbies.

Also, be on the look out for innovative new products from Progressive Gourmet throughout the year.  Our first new product launch will be later this month - ask your sales representative for a list of products.

Happy New Year - we look forward to continuing to be an Extension of Your Kitchen!
Warm Regards,

Progressive Gourmet
