Hello Friend! ,
Is your campaign using mobile technology to its best advantage? Are your website and email newsletters mobile friendly? Can they be read using a smart phone like a Blackberry, iPhone or Android? If not, you are missing the opportunity to reach voters when they are looking for information. In July, the Pew Internet and American Life Project published a new report, Mobile Access 2010. One of the key findings was that in the past year, 38 percent of U.S. cell phone users accessed the internet from their phones. Candidates today must make information available to voters using a variety of media and mobile access is increasingly important. Here are a few ideas to start your thinking about how to use mobile technology.

| Text Messages
· Ask supporters to sign up to receive text message updates from the campaign. In addition to being able to quickly and effectively communicate campaign news, this can be a valuable tool for GOTV. · Texting is also very useful in managing your volunteers. Easily communicate changes in plans for precinct walks or provide late breaking campaign news.
Mobile Web
· Speaking of volunteers, think about how helpful it would be if your volunteers could easily access the campaign website from anywhere, at anytime. Don't know the answer to a question posed by a voter during a precinct walk? No problem. Take out the mobile phone and quickly find the needed information on the campaign's mobile-optimized website. · Many voters are (understandably) overwhelmed by the vast number of candidates and ballot propositions that they face. When they are in the voting booth and find that they are not familiar with candidates or issues, it's increasingly common for them to take out their phone and go online to find some information to guide their choices. Will they find information about you or your opponent? Are you confident that your campaign website will be at the top of the search results for your name?
