One more thing, if you are a candidate paying a campaign consultant that isn't on board with placing a priority on new media, get yourself a new consultant! New media (websites, email, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube - anything online) is made for quick action and rapid response. It is ideal for political campaigns and organizations that need to build a following and inspire those followers to contribute both time and money to the cause. Compared to old school methods, the platforms are inexpensive or free, but that does not mean that you can neglect funding new media. To reap the benefits of the media, time and skill must be applied and that is where the investment comes in. At a minimum, a paid staffer or outside consultant must be engaged to develop the strategy and direct the implementation, especially if volunteers are involved. Ideally, dedicated professional staff or consultants will also take over the implementation. Red State New Media offers these services and we also offer a complimentary, no obligation consultation to help you get started in the right direction.
