Congresswoman Bachmann is arguably the strongest and most effective warrior in the fight to stop our tax dollars from funding the corrupt ACORN. She is using her website as her online headquarters with social media (Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube) integrated to encourage interaction with supporters.
She recently held a conference call to update supporters on her progress on the quest to cut off federal funds from going to ACORN. Red State New Media was called upon to quickly update various parts of the website to draw attention to a new petition that, during the call, she would be encouraging supporters to sign. She was able to direct people to the
Take Action page on her website that makes it easy for people to enlist their friends and family to join in signing the petition urging President Obama to immediately cut off all funding to ACORN.
The Bachmann campaign is also reaping the benefits of having devoted time, energy and resources to cultivating an extensive email list of supporters. This email list was the primary vehicle for inviting supporters to participate in the conference call. Having this asset available enables a campaign to take action quickly to promote an issue or react to changing circumstances. This is also a great example of providing your email subscribers with special benefits; in this case, the opportunity to hear directly from Congresswoman Bachmann on an important issue, ask her questions and hear from her special guest, House Republican Leader, Congressman John Boehner.
The call was a rousing success, with hundreds of supporters from across the country joining in. The petition already has thousands of signatures and by encouraging those on the call to visit her website, she raised a significant amount of new campaign contributions. The
new Endorsements feature on the website is making it easy for people to express their personal appreciation for the tireless efforts of Congresswoman Bachmann, and, perhaps, to even see their words displayed on the website. Email was employed again after the call to thank supporters for their participation and to convey key messages to those that could not join the call.
