Always Do Good

"And I have been slaving away to make this a perfect wedding!" Rich Bride/Poor Bride
A stressed out bride whines in every sequence, "This is MY wedding, and it is the one day that I should have every thing I want"
Her spending is out of control.  The temper tantrums are coming fast and furious while viewers are assaulted with the antics of a spoiled brat.
I know the premiss of these reality wedding shows is to entertain us with bad behavior, but with such extremes being the norm, acts of kindness are over looked.
Even the whiney bride wanted to  fold 1000 paper cranes to show patients and humility.  Um, she did do the origami, God bless her.

This issue focuses on the best part of love is to be able to share it, read how you can give big on your big day.

Straight From The Heart

November 5th 2005, Pamela Salaam ( Takin' It To The Streets) founder of Girl Spirit Women Song Inc., made an extraordinary promise.  19 girls, representing Harriet Tubmans' 19 courageous journeys on the Underground Railroad, would be guided from girlhood to womanhood.  Salaam's promise is to raise 1 million dollars for their college tuition.  This financial promise also includes making the girls scholastic and socially ready for the big step into womanhood.  This is quite an undertaking that you can share in:
Ask your guest to make a donation in leu of gifts ( you have the love of your life, it's all you need)
In leu of favors make a donation, have the stationer make place cards about the donation.  Your guest then will have information to give on their own.
This idea of giving can work with any of your favorite charities.

Beanin' Good

I know, I am getting a bit carried away with the clever titles but maybe I've had too much COFFEE.  That brings me to this, did you know that Starbucks has a literacy program.  With each Latte Machte you are making a contribution to make it possible for everyone to sit in a cafe (Starbucks or any other) and read.

Starbucks, is not the only company with a conscience. Coffee Kids.org is righting a wrong.  Farmers earn less than 4 cents a pound (WHAT!) they pick by hand.  Coffee Kids creates partnerships with local organizations.  The partners provide technical resources, training, and follow through to communities to implement grass-roots projects.  Read more about Coffee Kids and how they are helping.
You can male a contribution in many ways

Remember This

   When you knew he/she was the one, the love was pure.  Then came the ring, the date, the plans and the big day.  Love can take a back seat  to all the drama.  So, it waits, knowing it will return, because:

"Love is patient; love is kind
and envies no one.
Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude;
never selfish, not quick to take offense.
There is nothing love cannot face;
there is no limit to its faith,
its hope, and endurance.
In a word, there are three things
that last forever: faith, hope, and love;
but the greatest of them all is love."

It is easy to get lost in the planning of the big day, just remember to love big and generously, it only comes back to you in greater abundance.
