red grapes It's time to order your Yakima Valley Grapes for 2011

This spring I visited the Yakima Valley, and found a grape farmer that fits my needs to sell fresh grapes to you this fall.  This is going to be fun!

Varieties available are the usual suspects, with 6 white grapes and 6 red grapes available.  Unfortunately, the grower just told me that this year he will not have any Gewurztraminer or Lemberger, but hopefully they will be available next year.

We will be selling the grapes in 25 lb boxes.  It takes about 100 lbs to make 6 gallons of wine.  We will pick up the grapes in the Yakima Valley on a Friday, and you can then pick them up here at the store that weekend.  We will offer crushing and pressing services as part of the program.

The grape farmer has told us the grapes will be harvested later than usual this year, and of course depends on the weather from now until they are ready to pick.
Right now we are anticipating picking the grapes for an October 15th, 22nd, or 29th delivery.  That's only 4 to 6 weeks away!  You will need to be a bit flexible about these weekends, as mother nature is in charge!  At this point I expect all grapes to come the same weekend.

Like us on Facebook below for the harvest updates in the coming weeks.

Here is the varietals and their 25 lb box price.

White Wine Grapes
  • Chardonnay - $41.25
  • Sauvignon Blanc - $36.25
  • Gewurztraminer - not available 2011
  • Pinot Gris - $41.25
  • Chenin Blanc - $38.75
  • Riesling - $40.00
 Red Wine Grapes
  • Merlot- $43.75
  • Lemberger - not available in 2011
  • Cabernet Franc - $43.75
  • Cabernet Sauvignon - $46.25
  • Syrah - $45.00
  • Sangiovese - $46.25
Blending!  The 25 lb boxes make it easy for you to buy multiple boxes and blend your grapes!  You could do 75 lbs Merlot and 25 lbs Cabernet to make your own personal blend.  Be creative here!

We will be selling these grapes on a "Prepaid Pre-Order" basis.  You can order the grapes on line by following the link below, calling us at the store, or coming to the store to pay for them.

To avoid total chaos the weekend of delivery, we will schedule everybody with a crushing time spaced throughout the weekend.

The deadline for ordering grapes is October 5th!  Don't miss out!
