Every week we showcase a music video in this space. Last issue we showcased Stalley's "The Night" featuring Rashad. (Maybach Music) This week we are showcasing the coolest   music video you will ever see. The President has skills. I know it, you know it, and the GOP is afraid of it. We know you have probably seen this video but with today's U.S. Economic Report, the President deserves another round of applause. Lowest unemployment rate in three years. Ok, so now what? Will people say stuff like "yeah, but Obama didn't interview those people." Whatever, your stories are tired and weak. Watch the President hit the note, the feel, and soul of Al Green's "Let's Stay Together."  That's what we are saying. C'mon GOP, recognize this nation is "staying together" and the nation is as it is. Adjust your philosophy accordingly. Have a great weekend. GO GIANTS - REPRESENT THE NFC EAST. The only conference worth its weight. Print that. The Squad

DRIVE is one of the best films you will Ever see.

By Shelby Jones

With a London esque soundtrack that grips nostalgia our lead character swims.  The feel of this film is not only just right, it's damn near perfect at points. Too often Hollywood throws far too much into the belief that we film goers are wowed by a movie star's presence, but this film proves that you don't need an overblown budget, or a starlet to make it work. What you really need are competent physical actors that can communicate with their bodies and eyes which is just as important as their mouth. As one of Warner Bros. founders Harry Warner once said, "Who the hell wants to hear actors talk?"  Throw in other characters with equal soul presence and your gumbo will tastes good. Keep up with the belief that someone good looking has to sell your movie and you will flop as a director, producer, or studio. DRIVE baby, it's the only way to get there. Chrysler 300 vs. Ford Mustang.  Later when the London sound drifts into the darkness of Jason (Friday the 13th) or other similarly dark, twisted personas ala Tom Cruise in COLLATERAL, you realize this gumbo is sweet and tart, just like a good film should be. See it today on DVD-BLU Ray.

Good day subscribers:

Of course I can only think of three words...PEACE, LOVE & SOUL...

The death of Don Cornelius was definitely a shocker. Quincy Jones is the Godfather and Frank Sinatra was the Chairman of the Board; Don Cornelius can be remembered as the Chief Architect. The architecht of Soul, Black pride...the reason the music still thrives today.  Before music videos and MTV, Soul Train delivered the best Soul, Rap and R&B acts to the world. It was also delivered at a moment when African-Americans were determined to keep the momentum of social justice, political awareness, and gettin' funky alive.   As I write, I can hear Don introducing one of his favorite acts; he would say, "the Mighty O'Jays."  Great man. Great Vision. His life was not lived in vain. One more time for Don - Peace, Love & Soul...Isn't that the best mantra to live by every minute?

WHY YOU SHOULD SEE RED TAILS NOW
by Shelby Jones

I have always loved films about war. PLATOON, FULL METAL JACKET, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, APOCALYPSE NOW, MEN OF HONOR, and I thought Spike Lee did a great job with MIRACLE AT ST.ANNA. RED TAILS. RED TAILS. RED TAILS. By now all of America has probably seen an article, video, trailer, commercial, Tweet (#occupyredtails), blog, vlog or some kind of material on RED TAILS (even the President and First Lady are down with RED TAILS) which hits theaters today and a lot of eyes are watching to see how it's reviewed, how much money it generates, public reaction...Click Here for full Review
