Note: You can find the sound of the week on the school calendar here.

  • 4/18 - Bring in objects that have the sound  "ar" in them (as in "Art", "Star", "Car").

Camellia

Camellia has been busy with Spring festivities and our Spring Egg Hunt was a hit! Thank you to all Camellia families for bringing in your cereal boxes, helping decorate the boxes or eggs, going shopping, and helping at the event! The children really enjoyed it!

Gingko

For the month of April we will be studying the continent of Africa, invertebrates, insects, and the solar system.  If you have books at home that follow any of these topics, please send them in to share.  Our Passover celebration was a huge success. Our matzo ball soup was delicious and very easy to make.  We are looking forward to International Day, our next "holiday."

Jacaranda

Our egg hunt was a great success! The children hunted for their hard boiled eggs in the Spring sunshine. They were very excited to find the beautifully decorated eggs amongst the flowers in Mrs Campbell's garden. And the teachers had so much fun hiding them! All of the eggs inspired the teachers to bring out a new activity in the classroom: peeling, slicing (with a egg slicer) and eating hard boiled eggs!

Juniper

We had a lot of fun drumming time with Mr. Saad (Santiago's dad) on the Juniper yard last Friday afternoon. The children learned how to beat the drum with rhythm and also played along with the beats by using various musical instruments. Thank you Saad for a jazzy and fun time!

Live Oak

There is so much fun stuff happening in Live Oak this Spring! One of the best is the children have started making insects out of egg cartons, pipe cleaners, glue, and paint as part of our learning about insects. Some of them are really cool!

Magnolia

The children enjoyed collecting colorful eggs and other little treasures at Magnolia's Spring Egg Hunt. In addition to the eggs, we hid a piece of matzo called the afikomen in a place where only one child can find it. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who helped make our Spring Hunt such a success.

Mulberry

The toddlers painted spring baskets made out of recycled brown bags, dyed eggs and filled mini bags with stickers and animal crackers. When they were all done they had a spring hunt and found all the goodies.
