Summer Session 4
August 5, 2011

2011.08 snake thea

Thank you for joining us for our fourth summer session at GLM!  The theme of this session is Animals and Insects.  The color of this week is red and/or pink.  Next week it will be sky blue.

We've had many visits from furry animals, slithery reptiles, and eight legged insects!  Each class made animal inspired snacks, started the day with animal yoga, and spent the day making animal masks.

Camellia Furs and Tails

2011.08 chicken on head

All of GLM gathered together for a special school assembly.  Tracy Hill visited us from Furs and Tails to discuss his many animal friends.  The room was filled with laughter and animal sound impersonators.

Ginkgo

2077.08 boa

For Tracy's grand finale, he pulled out an albino boa constrictor!  The children were amazed and eagerly volunteered to hold the snake.

Juniper Animal Parade

2011.08 animal parade

Each class has been working hard to decorate their animal masks in preparation for Friday's Animal Parade.  It was a huge success as the five primary classes gathered on the bike yard playing instruments and howling & growling.

Please remember to pick up your child's animal mask in  his or her respective classroom.  We will also continue booking appointments to have family pets visiting campus.  Talk to your teachers about a date and time if you are interested.
