The South African Pondoland Wild Coast is under threat from an extension to the multilane N2 highway, and proposals for open cast dune mining by an Australian mining company.

Sustaining the Wild Coast (SWC) is a registered not for profit organisation that is concerned about these developments and hopes to press for ecologically and socially sensitive economic solutions for the Wild Coast region.  Read more

My persistent, haphazard meanderings led me to Antbear Guest House; one of the better kept secrets in the central Drakensberg. For me, its ethereal essence is the reason I look forward to the day I return to this fairy-tale like hideaway.
