tourismZA in support of Sustaining the Wild Coast (SWC)
|
The South African Pondoland Wild Coast is under threat from an extension to the multilane N2 highway, and proposals for open cast dune mining by an Australian mining company.
Sustaining the Wild Coast (SWC) is a registered not for profit organisation that is concerned about these developments and hopes to press for ecologically and socially sensitive economic solutions for the Wild Coast region. Read more
tourismZA will be providing SWC with its own state of the art communication platform. From there we are looking at including SWC in our national tourism road show as a one-on-one PR and fundraising opportunity. The tourism road show travels to selected shopping malls and tourism expos throughout the country.

Review - Central Drakensberg
|
If mountains and crystal clear streams are your thing then the meandering dirt roads of the KwaZulu Natal midlands all lead to out-of-the-way places that are food for the soul.
My persistent, haphazard meanderings led me to Antbear Guest House; one of the better kept secrets in the central Drakensberg. For me, its ethereal essence is the reason I look forward to the day I return to this fairy-tale like hideaway. There is a sense of something special surrounding everything from eccentrically hand crafted furniture to the candle lit Jacuzzi spa bath; simply lying on a king sized bed staring through ornate hobbit windows, set in half metre thick hay bale walls magnifies the magnificence of the Drakensberg.
Some resorts offer the sea; game lodges offer wildlife and the big five. Here, in preparation for tomorrow's activities the snow-capped mountains, the fast flowing streams and bejewelled night sky offer the quiet, magical solace of Antbear Guest House.
