Billing Update
We are releasing a few important enhancements which effect billing. Please review the details below.
1. Medicare "Zero Fill": Working with our customers, we have found a way to get a proper denial from Medicare for services provided by non Medicare credentialed providers. If you need to make use of this feature (See previous admin updates for details), please contact our helpdesk with instructions on activating.
2. SED Billing: The IMA billing system is now able to support two sets of effective and expiration dates for the designation of a client as SED. This should be helpful when a client moves between managed and straight medicaid during the year. if you would like to activate this feature please contact the helpdesk.
3. Consolidated claim files in "Service billing batches": The Service billing module has been enhanced so that it now creates a single claim file for all claims that are to be sent to the same "Receiver" and are the same version (4010 or 5010) and format (Institutional or Professional). This should reduce the burden of sending many claim files to Medicaid and to clearinghouses even if you have many payer and payer sequence records.
These changes will be available starting tomorrow.
