IMA Enhancements

Please follow the link below for the full list of enhancements released this month.

June 15 Updates

This month, we are highlighting below some of the enhancements that we feel are particularly noteworthy.

Also this month, the installation of the update requires a "data layout change". You will need to schedule a 15-30 minute time slot with the helpdesk during which users will not have access to the IMA application.

Please contact the IMA Helpdesk with any questions and  to schedule the upgrade.

I. ePrescribing

The status of the IMA ePrescribing module has changed from "Beta" to "Released". Many thanks to our "patient" beta testers.

II. Medicare ePrescribing Incentive Payments

The IMA billing module has been enhanced to support claim based reporting of ePrescribing to Medicare. This is needed in order to be eligible for the Federal incentives. When  billable services are recorded (via progress notes or batch entry) an indication can be made that an ePrescription was provided during the session. Then, when billing these services to Medicare, we will include a "G" code to report this event.

For more details on the Medicare incentives please see

Medicare eRX Incentive

If you do ePrescribing and want to report this to Medicare, contact our helpdesk to have this feature installed and configured.

III. Medicaid Billing Changes for 7/21/2011

Medicaid is making many changes over the next few months. Here are the key things that are changing on 7/21 and how they affect your use of the IMA application.

A. Changes that affect you and IMA:

1. Changed eligibility response: Medicaid is changing the information that they send in an eligibility response. IMA will be releasing a new version of this module shortly to support the new information.

2. New format for claim status responses: IMA will be releasing a new version of the HIPAA file manager shortly which will include support for this new file format.

B. Changes that affect you but not IMA:

1. New Web Interface for eExchange: You need to make sure the appropriate staff are trained on using the new emedny interface.

2. There will no longer be a need for OMH programs to submit UT Authorization requests.

IV. Other Noteworthy Enhancements

A. OMH 30/50 visit UT limits

OMH has surprised everyone with new UT limits for clients that exceed 30 and 50 visits in the year beginning 4/1/2011. We have added a new report to help you proactively monitor clients that are on track to reach these service levels.

B. EHR in PDF format

Using our Client Homepage, it is now very easy to create a "pdf" document of the relevant information from a client's EHR for printing and secure transmission via email (by encrypting the pdf). A face sheet, progress notes, assessments, and treatment plans can easily be selected and added into a single pdf document.
