Dear Friends, Neighbors and Members of St. Cyprian's,

This week the corner of Turk & Lyon has been a very busy intersection as folks have been dropping off rummage, donating their time to sort and organize, participate in a fitness or drawing class, continue projects from Saturday's Rebuilding Together workday, prepare bulletins for a beloved member's Memorial Service, & meet to continue plans for the Community Kitchen. There's something very moving about each interaction, every gesture of goodwill, encouragement and support. The spirit is one of "we're in this together" recognizing that we all come from very different places, circumstances, experiences, and understandings. Every person seems to get what we're trying to do though -- build a clean, safe and welcoming space to share food and build community. While BBQ & Rummage Sales may not raise all the money we need to build the new kitchen --- the hard work, generosity, broad participation, and strengthened relationships will help us reach our g
oal. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has already contributed and those who will show up on Saturday to revive the St. Cyprian's BBQ & Rummage Sale traditions.

A special thank you to Bi-Rite Grocery for donating nearly all the meat for our BBQ. Bi-Rite is one of St. Cyprian's new neighbors on the Divisadero Street Corridor, and o
ffers great wisdom on eating well and supporting local food. Norma Planiczka, Gigi Smith, Adrian Williams and their crew of cooks will prepare the BBQ & homemade side dishes. Thank you also to University of San Francisco Environmental Capstone students and their professors Melinda Stone & David Silver. Also Sean Culligan a usf intern, all who have provided enormous supportive energy, time, and skills to this event and others this spring connected with the Cyprian's Community Kitchen. Also, thank you to Bruce Prescott, an architect who has provided a more detailed plan for the kitchen we dream of building together. To see a large version of the drawing above click here.

A final pitch. We hope you will come, bring friends and if you can't come donate to our cause via our Cyprian's Community Kitchen website, you can do that by clicking here.

See you soon at Turk & Lyon!

Peace,

Will

Rest in Peace Eva Ruth Webster

Eva Webster, a devoted member of St. Cyprian's died peacefully at home on Monday. Eva was a parishioner at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church for 30 years, where her children learned about the goodness of the Lord. She then joined St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church where she was an active member singing in the choir and later becoming a Lay Eucharistic Minister in 2006. She enjoyed her parish ministries especially being able to help with Communion. Please join St. Cyprian's, Eva's family & friends on Friday at 11 a.m. to celebrate her life and witness.

From Deacon Eric...

on the Saint Cyprian's blog

A VERY BIG THANK YOU to the huge crew that did some amazing work on Saturday, April 28th painting a lot of spaces, making a restroom more accessible, and an office more useable. Rebuilding Together San Francisco you ROCK, thanks for literally brightening the life & lightening the load of this hybrid community center & church at Turk & Lyon. Many thanks to Jennifer Wolfe who filled out our application (& got us accepted as a site), Michael Helquist who coordinated all the details about the building projects with contractors, Deacon Eric for helping make sure the church was ready for services the next day & our dear next door neighbors who got involved in a spontaneous art project on the side of the building.
Lots to be grateful for at St. Cyprian's --- thank you
