Golf Tip of the Month
With instructional information readily available to amateur golfers 24/7/365 in print, online an on television, there can be a tendency to start over-analyzing and over-thinking some of the basic components of the game. Combine that with the fact that we tend to "under practice" in relation to the amount we play. The net result is that we will occasionally try to shortcut things and apply some of those "new" swing thoughts we hear about during a round or while watching the dreaded golf channel tips. Often that approach is met with varying results.
So, starting with this month's newsletter, the Golf Shop Team will be proving a golf tip of the month. These will be some of team member's favourite, but simple and straight forward tips. Think of it as a thought to assist you in improving your mental and physical approach to the game.
To kick it off this month, our first tip is a simple swing thought courtesy of Fred Couples. It is a simple thought that should allow you to swing a bit more freely. While sweeping the club on your backswing, your left shoulder (for right handed golfers) should end up under your chin. On the follow through your right shoulder should end up under your chin. try that simple movement the next time you are practicing and see if you can feel the difference in a flowing movement.

Recipe of the Month
Back by popular demand is our recipe of the month. This month, our Head Chef, Ferd Galon, is sharing his recipe for his incredible coconut crème brulee.
As a bonus, during the month of September, you can try this brulee for only $4 to see why this is one of Ferd's favorite desserts! Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups heavy Cream 1/2 cup coconut milk
4 large egg yolks 1/2 cup granulated sugar + 4-6 tbsp for topping Prep: Preheat oven to 350°. In a  sauce pan, bring cream and coconut milk to a boil. Meanwhile, whisk egg yolks, shredded coconut & sugar. Slowly whisk hot cream into egg yolk mixture until well blended. Place 6-8 shallow individual 6-8oz baking dishes in a large baking or roasting pan. Pour boiling water into baking pan to about half way up the small baking dishes. Carefully place pan in oven. Bake for about 20-25 minutes. Cool crème brulee then chill for about 4-6 hours. Sprinkle each creme brulee with 2-3 teaspoon of sugar. Carefully torch to melt sugar or place under the broiler, turning and watching very closely, until sugar caramelizes - about 1-2 minutes.
