Over the years, Paul has developed a comprehensive knowledge for business and site analysis, property acquisition, exit strategies, financing, and a keen sense of navigating through what matters pertaining to completing transactions in a challenging market.
Paul has spent a lifetime fly fishing, and having spent a good deal of his youth working in the ranching business, has a great appreciation for honesty and hard work.
A quick meet and greet with Paul...
Where did you grow up? - "I grew up in Santa Fe, NM, spending summers working on a 150 section cattle ranch."
What brought you to Albuquerque? - "My beautiful wife Kim and I met in high school, we married in Las Cruces NM, and have lived in Gallatin Gateway MT., Chama NM, Elk NM, Ruidoso NM, And moved to Albuquerque in 1998 with our two sons Coulter (now 23), and Noah (now 18). We managed the Lodge at Chama Land and Cattle co., guided fly fishermen, and ran our own fly fishing camp on the Rio Penasco in Elk NM prior to that. Albuquerque is where my wife's sisters and parents live. Kim followed me on some great adventures, and it seemed only fair to agree to let her live close to her family. By the time we moved here she had not seen a shopping mall in 15 years!"
How did you get started in Commercial Real Estate? - "I began my career in Commercial Real Estate at Grubb & Ellis, focusing on farm, ranch and recreational land sales. My focus has evolved into primarily office and industrial sales and leasing...it takes much less gas."
What was your most rewarding transaction? - "My most rewarding deal actually just closed. A very loyal client was hit extra hard by the economy. Out of the blue a large company assembled some land for a recycling plant. My client happened to own an inaccessible tract of land that bordered the primary parcel, and sold to them at an excellent price. She was able to pay off everything in her life....and retain free and clear ownership of a small warehouse with an excellent Tenant in place. She was about 6 months away from losing it all. The people are my favorite part of what I do."
What did you want to do when you grew up and why? - "Growing up I always wanted to be a veterinarian. I always enjoyed the company of animals."
What do you want to be when you grow up? - "If I ever do grow up, I'd like to be everything I could have been."
