 Long summer days (and annoying TV reruns!) equal more free hours in which to get things done, but let's face it.....who feels like tackling big organizing projects in the blistering heat? Summer's about kicking back and having fun, no? So the real question is this - Do organizing and fun need to be mutually exclusive???? I say a resounding NOOOOOO. Here are some in-door things you can organize and have fun doing (er, maybe not fun exactly, but you'll definitely get a feeling of accomplishment!). Do your holiday shopping . (I'm serious!). After all, there are only 149 days left until Christmas. If the weather is too hot to even head to the beach, consider heading to the comfort of the 65-degree mall instead, and avoid the December madness. Some of the best gifts I bought for people were things I picked up in my (summer) travels. Stow gifts away until the holidays are here, and be sure to make a list so you remember what you bought, and for whom. Plan no-cook meals. They're easy, healthy and delicious. (I've tried them all!). Catch up on that stack of reading you've been meaning to get to: take it to the beach, read it in the car, file it and/or let it go. Tackle technology! What better time than the dog days of summer to clear the UFO's (unidentifed frozen objects) from the freezer....if only to get a temporary blast of cool air. Added benefit? - more room for ice cream.
