because friends don't let friends miss useful information!
Are cell phone numbers going public in 2010??????
Rumors say they are, but don't believe everything you read (on the internet).......

owner/founder     When a dear friend (and someone whose counsel I take quite seriously) sent me an email warning me that cell phone numbers were going to be made available to telemarketers on March 1st, 2010, I found the news to be very disconcerting. I'd seen similar emails circulating for years, and thought this time, it just might be for real. "Oh! no", I thought - a double whammy, because in addition to receiving the nuisance calls, guess who would pay for them? US!!!!! That's right - you and me,  not the telemarketers.

I did some checking around, and I found there aren't any reliable sources on the internet - or anywhere - that point to a March 1st, 2010 release of cell phone numbers to telemarketers. So breathe a sigh of relief and rest assured you won't be bothered (or paying for) these nuisance calls. And in the event that cell phone numbers do become available to telemarketers, there's a simple solution.

If you don't want your cell phone - or land line phone - to EVER be called by a telemarketer, then all you have to do is visit the National Do Not Call Registry website. Click on the Register a Phone Number link and follow the simple on screen instructions. Be sure to check your email for a verification notification with the following subject line:

National Do Not Call Registry - OPEN AND CLICK on link to Complete Your Registration.

Your registration will be completed as soon as you click the link included in your email.

So what are you waiting for?????????? Visit  the NDNC Registry NOW and avoid those annoying telemarketers altogether - both at home and on your cell. Why wait until cell phone numbers really do go public?

'Til next time - be well, be safe, be organized........
