Mr. Magazine Returns to AHP Seminar
AHP 40th LogoSamir Husni, aka "Mr. Magazine"™, is the director of the Magazine Innovation Center at the University of Mississippi, School of Journalism. He is also Professor and Hederman Lecturer at the School of Journalism.
 
Dr. Husni is the author of the annual Samir Husni's Guide to New Magazines, which is now in its 24th year and the editor of The Future of Magazines. He has presented seminars on trends in American magazines to the editorial, advertising and sales staff of the magazine groups. He is "the country's leading magazine expert," according to Forbes ASAP magazine, "the nation's leading authority on new magazines," according to min:media industry newsletter; "a world-renowned expert on print journalism" according to CBS News Sunday Morning and The Chicago Tribune dubbed him "the planet's leading expert on new magazines."
 
Dr. Husni is the President and CEO of Magazine Consulting & Research, a firm specializing in new magazine launches, repositioning of established magazines, and packaging publications for better sales and presentations.
 
When he is not in his office reading magazines, Dr. Husni is at the newsstands buying magazines.

Here's an opportunity to support a worthy cause and support the Student Fund, which encourages young people to become a part of the equine publishing industry. Silent Auction is held during the AHP "40th Anniversary" Seminar in Lexington, Kentucky, on June 17-19, 2010.

The Time is Now to Register and Book Your Room
Time is slipping by and we often need a gentle nudge to make a decision. So, here it is your gentle nudge to check-off items on your TO DO list.
 
If you plan to attend the AHP 40th Anniversary Seminar next month and have not done one or more of the following items, please consider doing them in the next few days.
 
Book room reservations by MAY 28
Deadline date for guaranteed group rates is MAY 28. After this date, the hotel will release rooms to the general public. Take advantage of staying at the hotel where all the events will be held at an affordable $119 rate.
 
The AHP Hotel Group Rate offers AHP attendees two levels of accommodations.
Standard Room: $119 Single or Double 2pp, $10 additional person
Executive Club Floor Room: $144 Single or Double 2pp, $10 additional person.
(Applicable local and state taxes not included in above rates)
Rates are good from June 12, 2010 - June 23, 2010 based on availability.

Thursday's Tour is complimentary to registered AHP members, but you must submit the registration form by JUNE 3
 
Complete seminar registration by JUNE 3
Seminar registration forms are due by JUNE 3 in order to prepare paperwork and provide the hotel with meal counts. Even if you live in the Lexington area and do not require accommodations, you will need to register early as last minute registrations may not guarantee meal choices.
