FPA/NEO October 2011 Newsletter President's Message by Mark McCandless, CFP®, CPA, MTax
In a blatant attempt to take a shortcut and complete this by the deadline, I start this month by including this paragraph from last month's Letter:
Our Chapter has its own election of officers and Board members at our November meeting. In accordance with our By - Laws, I have established a nominating committee which is to include me and four other members. I have selected three Past Presidents and a relatively new member to provide a blend of experience and insight into the committee's recommendations. These recommendations will be presented to the membership at the November meeting. Nominations from the floor are also permitted. At this time I am asking anyone who may be interested in serving as a Board Member or Officer to contact me. Please call my office (RAV Financial Services, LLC) at 216.831.4900 to let me know if you are interested or have questions about the nature of your volunteer activity, your time commitment, etc. You may also send an email to: mmccandless@ravfinancial.com but PLEASE PUT FPA BOARD NOMINATION in the subject line. Otherwise the Junk Mail gods may smite your email into oblivion.
The difference from last month is that I have changed the color to RED which means urgent. I don't want anyone to miss out on the opportunity to grow on a personal and professional level. I have received far more than I have given to FPA! I have met and worked with some of the finest individuals in our business. This is a chance to meet professionals in our field whose thoughts and opinions will make you think about your own business. I guarantee you will learn things that will not only enrich your business but your life as well. I, however, cannot guarantee you will be nominated! I can guarantee that if you show an interest in expanding your knowledge of our profession, you will never regret it. There is a place for you in our Chapter. I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at our next meeting!
