The Smithfield-Selma Chamber of Commerce has named Michael Carroll Wooten its 2010 Citizen of the Year. Mike was born in Roanoke, Virginia and moved to Johnston County in 1969 when his father was hired as an assistant principal at the newly completed Smithfield-Selma High School. New member uses chess to help kids

Get ready for
PRIME TIME!
How would you like to network with 120 new businesses with lots of food, entertainment and door prizes? If so you need to come to PRIME TIME.
This high-energy business showcase of all the members who joined the Chamber during the recent Membership Event will be on Thursday, March 3 from 5-7 pm. in the Great Hall at Johnston Community College. The public is invited to come out, do some networking and see what our new members have to offer.
All new members are invited to set up a marketing display table. And their will be plenty of food - Zaxby's, McDonalds and Stevens Sausage have already signed on. Earp Entertainment Services will also be sponsoring and providing musical entertainment.
