Fellow Eagles,
We have so many wonderful events going on in the IAC and would love to see you join us. The Lodge will be holding an Ordeal this weekend and this is always a great time, so come by Camp Avondale and visit. In the last news letter we mentioned a new event called Over the Edge. We have great response and looks like it will be a great new event. The Business and Industry luncheon is now all set for November to hear from the president of AT&T, Sonia Perez. Please check out www.myistrouma.com for more details or let us know how you would like to get involved.
Last weekend while at the LSU game I got to see so many boys in uniform helping out all around the Stadium. Then on Sunday while shopping at a Winn Dixie I spotted more boys in uniform selling popcorn. After seeing all of the hard work they were doing it was easy to pick some up. It tasted great by the way!
The Eagle banquet is coming up in January and we are always looking for sponsors. This is one of the most rewarding events I do each year as it allows me the opportunity to relive my Eagle through the excitement of the young man I sponsor. If you are interested please let me know.

 Clay Shoot for Scouts Classic October 27 - 29, 2011 | |
Sporting clays at beautiful Camp Avondale on a glorious fall morning....what could be better? How about great food, a fun reception, lots of fantastic auction items and a practice shoot at Hunters Run Gun Club plus this year's door prize at the reception is a Browning BPS Stalker!
You get to do all this PLUS support the Istrouma Area Council, Boy Scouts by participating in the 13th Annual Clay Shoot for Scouts. Enter a team & be a part of this great event. Include colleagues, clients, families, friends for a great outing. In years past we've had a wide variety if teams and skill levels. The Shoot is for fun! But if you are expert, our course designer, Dave Reynerson, puts in a few stations to challenge you & frustrate the rest of us!
We begin with a reception/dinner on October 27th at Baton Rouge Coca Cola. In addition to live & silent auction items, we'll have a drawing for that Browning Stalker. On Friday, lunch & practice shoot at Hunters Run with the grand finale at Camp Avondale on Saturday, October 29th. Breakfast & registration start at 7:30. After you bust all those clays, lunch & awards at the dining hall conclude this great event!
Join us please. You will have a great time!

HELP LOCATE
"LOST" EAGLES |
One of the major initial goals of the committee is to get contact information for as many Eagles as possible. Thanks to the Eagle directory put together by Harris Publishing, we have identified 4482 individuals that are either from the IAC or are now living in the area. Of those, 1204 responded to the survey. That leaves 3278 without current contact information.
We would like to identify a "Lost Eagle Captain" for each troop that can take the lead in helping to find Eagles Scouts from that troop.
If you would like to assist in expanding our "flock" or have ideas for " Lost Eagle Captains" please contact Lee Burns at lee@mdserta.com |
