| Get your pre emergent down by March 31st!
Pre emergent is one of the most important steps in an annual fertilizer program. This application doesn't actually kill any weeds, but better yet, stops them from growing in the first place! Once those spring and summer temperatures start to rise above 50 degrees, weeds will start to rear their ugly heads. An application put down too early can be washed away and loose effectiveness. Now is the perfect time to sign up for our fertilizer program. Putting down an early spring application of pre emergent will help the battle of the weeds all season long. |
| Q & A Ask the landscaper
Q: Do I really need fresh mulch in the spring for my plants? What is the real benefit?
A: Mulching landscape beds is very important to the health and well being of your plants. Mulch conserves moisture in the plant's root zone, helps prevent weed growth, stabilizes soil tempuratures which helps prevent stress on the plant during the gradual spring warm up, increases water infiltration and prevents soil compaction. A new layer of mulch also makes a landscape bed look fresh again after a long winter. Application rate should be at about a 2-3inch depth. |
